Party Like its 1776!

Just around the corner is the American tradition of celebrating our country’s freedom. Our grills will be hot, our drinks will be cold, and people will gather together to enjoy this day.

“For freedom Christ has set us free.”  Galatians 5:1

This Fourth of July is an excellent opportunity to be mindful of others and their need to experience the freedom we have in Christ. Who are you inviting to spend time with you, your family, and your missional group on the 4th of July?  Ask God to help you build a relationship with people in such a way that you might share with them the joy of Christ’s love, forgiveness, and mercy. People love to be loved; and Americans love their freedoms. Let’s

This doesn’t have to be an awkward conversation. It is actually rather fun. Go to the party (or host one). Be yourself. Pray for God to show you who needs encouragement. Sit next to them and encourage them. Operate as a missionary and friend to your American brothers and sisters.

The Spirit will give you the right words to say at the right time. He always does.

Oh, and don’t forget to be safe, have fun, and make memories. You have been set free from the lesser things to do and experience good things. That’s good news, eh?
